Work done : Redesign of website for Nantwich-based charity
Feedback: Many thanks for your help in developing a new website for Climb.
We are really pleased with the new background, layout and format of the website. Previously using Front Page the changeover to PHP has meant a rapid learning curve using Expression Web2 which has enabled us to quickly update the new website.
Overall it is a much cleaner, smarter and useable website than the previous edition and we have already received several good comments from our service users.
A tremendous job for which we are really grateful.
Steve Hannigan, Executive Director

Work done: Redesign and update website for a Whalley Range/Old Trafford-based community training organisation, including user-updatable Google calendar.
Feedback: We are grateful to Guy Lancaster and Web Angels for redesign and update of our website. The work was completed very quickly and was of a high standard.
The resulting website is a lot clearer and user-friendly.
We now need to get some training to keep it up to date. Thank you Guy! Keep up the good work!

Feedback : I am writing on behalf of the Outlook Team to say Thank you for redevelopment of our website.
The work that Guy Lancaster and the web angels have done is outstanding and we have no hesitation in promoting him and his team to any company or organisation who wish to update their website or to set up a completely new website.
Outlook put their idea forward to Guy who then advised us on the different ways to make the website easy and user friendly to the Outlook Team, members, other organisations, professionals and anyone else interested in accessing the site.

Student volunteer : Kamil Celoch
Work: New website + online discussion forum
Feedback: Guy Lancaster and Kamil Celoch created a website for Migrant Workers Association in Cheshire East Area. Since there are at least 22 nationalities in Crewe who are approaching local government services, the Invest to Save Budget: Changing Community in Crewe project within Cheshire East Council supports the Association in providing help to all migrants of all nationalities living and working across the whole Cheshire East Region. Thanks to Web Angels, we have been able to give all migrant workers a forum to interact and obtain valuable information.
During the development of the website we received many valuable suggestions on the content that needs to be provided as well as found out what is needed in terms of the IT solutions.
Thank you very much for all the work you have done for us.

Feedback: We approached MMU Web Angels for assistance in updating an existing website based on a nature site managed by Groundwork. The aim of the update was to add a page of ‘educational resources’ for local school teachers to access should they wish to visit the site with a class.
On first analysis of the existing site, Guy Lancaster kindly suggested some broader updates to make the site more accessible to all.
These additional updates required the redesign of the whole website system yet Web Angels were successfully able to retain the look and feel of the old site.
The new page of educational resources works really well with a table of activities and teachers notes for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.
I am delighted with the work done by MMU Web Angels.
The updates were completed fast and to a high standard, with added value thrown in left, right and centre.
Their ability to pass on the theory behind any suggested update made the whole process enjoyable and useful.
Thanks for all your help and advice – you’ve been a Godsend!

Feebback : It was a pleasure for someone to give us some time and expertise that helped us get on the ladder to creating a web site for care leavers.
From the day a group has emerged after a long time to begin the process.
Young people as you found out with limited concentration now have some direction and hopfully will develop something that can benefit them in their new world of e-learning.
The staff would like to thank you for your time and understanding, hope we will remain in contact.

Manchester Black Minority Ethnic (BME) Network

Work done : New Website generated
Feedback :Within a week of speaking to Guy Lancaster, our website was up and running!
Guy provided a wonderful service for our strategic network, taking staff through the process gently and comprehensively. Guy was informative and full of ideas, which were fratefully received as staff at Manchester BME Network had no previous experience of web-site design or maintenance.
Guy went above and beyond, not only using the information provided by our organisation, but by taking the time to add vital links and further information that he sourced himself on our member organisations.
In this age of budget cuts and reduced capacity, our community organisation would, without a doubt, not have been able to have set up a website, without the help of Guy at Webangels.
The work itself was to a high standard, and communication was clear and frequent.
Guy took the coordinator step by step through the process, identifying clear stages, and going into detail on each stage ensuring that the outcome was to a high standard.
Many thanks to Guy and Webangels, hopefully our lovely site will encourage members to access our services, and that of other members. We envisage sharing of information, engagement of organisations, and increased collaborative working to the benefit of the BME community in Manchester as a result.

Work: New website
Student Volunteers: Sarah Jasmon, Rosa Meekums
Feedback : the Manchester Chinese Community was
unable to develop a website due to lack off funding and support. For years we kept asking for volunteers to build us a website; but were very disappointed. Guy Lancaster approached us in April 2009 and told us that he could offer a free website. It was like winning a Lottery and our community did not believe it. They keep saying there must a catch some where. Guy has been working on our website day and night over the summer. He is very caring, helpful, great IT skills and made lots of valuable suggestions; also very extremely keen. Guy has been contributing great work for our web and free of charge. Our community very grateful for Web Angles service, it makes our dream come true. Now our website is running perfectly well among our community and later will expand to international network.

Work done: Conference website created for the Louise Dacacodia Centre / MMU Education
Feedback : We had no experience of creating a website and Guy very skilfully and patiently took us through the required elements. We wanted a simple page initially which Guy delivered and we have planned to work together again on expanding the site.
The website enabled us to give specific information on the education conference. It helped to increase attendance as interested individuals were able to refer friends and colleagues to the site.
We were impressed with the level of participation at the conference, the web information certainly helped to raise awareness.
Elizabeth Lord,
The Louise Da-Cocodia Education Trust

Work Done : Update of Manchester site using design and material from national student councilling site.
Work Done : Site redesign
Feedback : Guy approached our organisation in 2009 and offered to help us to develop our webste, which was previously poorly designed and diffcult to naivigate.
Thanks to Guy, our website has been transformed and is now clear, accessible and user-friendly We are extremely grateful to Guy for transforming our web presence, meaning that our website is now a valuable resource for women who have experienced sexual violence..

Student Volunteers: Sarah Jasmon, Rosa Meekums
Feedback : Guy Lancaster created a wonderful
website for our Manchester Youth Ambassador project. It has been a great
success in creating worldwide contacts for our project. Guy has been extremely
helpful, and thoughtful in planning ahead. During the development of the website, he offered valuable suggestions on the content and arranged MA students to help with our English; also tried to very hard to meet our deadline. Our youth ambassadors, setting off to China in July, can now down load all documents from our website. We are very grateful to Guy.

Work done: Creation of WIKI including web-sourced material, and upload of membership. Also ongoing maintenance of whats-on page.
Feedback:I am writing to say how grateful I am to Guy Lancaster for his assistance supporting the Higher Education Precinct (HEP) Travel Plan. The HEP consists of MMU, Uni of Manc, the central NHS Trust and the Royal NC of Music.
The 4 institutions fund my role, which is to promote sustainable travel to staff and students. Sustainable travel modes are walking, cycling, public transport & car sharing.
Guy is a keen cyclist and using his IT skills he has kindly set up 2 ‘wikis’ at MMU and
the NHS which will act as valuable forums for cyclists to share views and help improve the facilities and support offered to them. Cycling has so many individual and overall benefits and we are hoping to attract even greater numbers to cycling over the coming years. The dedication and effort of people like Guy give us real hope for change in terms of travel habits.
Andrew Hough, HEP Travel Co-ordinator

Work done: New website with photo gallery
Feedback : I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Guy Lancaster and Web Angels for producing a fabulously clear, comprehensive and accessible website.
It has been of great use in publicizing public engagement work in the Faculty of Humanities and the work of the Manchester Academy, our project partner, which has promoted it vigorously to parents, governors and the local community.
As such, the website has become a key contributor to the success of the project. Thank you Guy for your hard work, attention to detail and outstanding patience.
Dr Linnie Blake, Programme Leader English, Manchester Metropolitan University

Work done: re-engineered website + user training
Work done : Website and ticket sales for MMU disability conference
Feedback: I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Guy Lancaster and Web Angels for producing the Present Difference website. The website is accessible, easy to navigate and extremely effective as a means of publicizing the event and reaching potential conference delegates.
I am in no doubt that the website has played a key role in the success of the project. Thank you Guy for your commitment, hard work, flexibility and attention to detail.
Dr Lucy Burke, Organizer of Present Difference: The cultural production of disability, Manchester Metropolitan University

Work done : Created Website
Project Developer : Guy Lancaster
Work done : Update of part finished site, and research for links page.
Feedback: "Guy Lancaster approached us in the summer of 2008 and offered to help us to further develop our website in a voluntary capacity.
Since that time, in an extremely sensitive, thoughtful and creative way, Guy has overhauled the way the website works and how both we as the people in the organisation, and the public, interact with it.
The quality of Guy’s work is excellent. He is swift to respond to our requests and is always very attentive to detail. As a result, the capacity for our organisation to interface effectively with our clients, partners, and the wider public has improved and our own abilities to appreciate how the different parts of our organisation interrelate has also developed.
In the future we are planning for HTML training or content management system training for the dynamic areas – events, news etc.."
Dr. Rhetta Moran
Work done : Site redesign, onsite interactive Google calendar, web update training
Feedback : Sahir House would like to thank Guy Lancaster for his support in designing our new website.
The old website was difficult to keep updated due to a third party being involved, designing a new website seemed an expensive option and also time consuming due to training etc.
We were made aware of Web Angels via a Halton Voluntary Action e-mail, contacted Guy who was extremely helpful and efficient in the creation of our new website.
Guy requested our info be sent in a word document, which made it very easy for us to do and felt less daunting.
Guy kept in regular contact while creating each new page, we were able to view the progress and give feedback every step of the way.
Our website needed to be simple, accessible and easy to navigate.
We support people living with or affected by HIV, so when looking for a local charity for support around HIV on the internet, this new design is what we wanted regarding a first impression from the new site and a source of information.
One other major feature is publicising events internal and external so Guy set up our Google Calendar, simple to update and easy to read, just what we wanted.

Project Description: A community group working with the South Asian community of Whalley Range/Old Trafford to promote health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Work done : Created new site
Project Developer : Guy Lancaster.
Work done: New website + Facebook group
Student Volunteer: Richard Coss
Feedback I have run a support group for people who stammer for the past 2 years but I wanted to attract more members, and creating a website seemed a good way of doing this.
Initially the site was set up by student, Richie Coss, who delivered exactly what we wanted. Guy Lancaster then stepped in with great care and patience, and completed the work. This resulted in a member of the public, searching the internet for information to join a support group, I was also able to tell them that there was one place available to attend a 4 day intensive MACH1 programme which was funded by the governments "grass roots", the person was absolutely delighted. Without Guy and Richie, I
just would not have had the time or the money to set up a website, I’m very pleased with the result.

Work done : Website updated : design + content, User-friendly Google events page
Developer : Daniel Simmister, MMU placement student
Feedback : We would like to thank Guy and Web Angels’ student Daniel Simister for all their hard work in sorting out and updating our website, which is used to promote and support the Fairtrade status of the Wigan borough.
Having approached them for advice, we were very pleased by the way everything was explained clearly to us, the patience shown as we sorted out the information we wanted to put on the site and the speed in which the work was completed.
The excellent training given and the simple guidance notes produced by Guy and his student will enable us to update the website with events and information as necessary for us to maintain our Fairtrade status.
The quality of the assistance given to us and the work on the website far exceeded our expectations, so thank you once again.
Ann Chantler Secretary Wigan Fairtrade Group.
