Visit us

It is important to find out as much as you can about a University you’re considering applying to and if possible you should visit them at least once.

Open Days

At MMU we hold two Open Days a year – usually in June and October – and details can be found on our website. These events provide you with the opportunity to find out what life at University will be like – to see the facilities, meet the tutors, look around the student accommodation and see the city you could be living in for the next three years. You can meet current students and ask any of the questions you might still have after reading literature such as this.

Visit Days

All Departments within the Faculty hold their own Visit Days for applicants to their courses and anyone interested in studying their courses who have not visited the University before. These events are held on Wednesdays in January, February, March and April each year and Departments will invite you along when dates are set if you let them have your details.

Visit Days provide the opportunity to find out about the University, but more importantly about the course you will be studying – there will be taster lectures, presentations and the chance to chat informally to staff about how you will learn and what will be expected of you. It’s an important chance for you to make sure the course is right for you.

If you can’t make it to an Open or Visit Day there are alternatives – you can contact the Department you’re interested in studying within and arrange for an individual visit, or visit our website and see the University in more detail.
