You will study two foreign languages, achieving degree level fluency in both by the end of the course. You willdevelop transferable skills useful in the world of work, such as translating, interpreting and presentation techniques, and will discover the contemporary society and cultures of the two languages you are studying. Unit options may include cinema, women's writing, popular culture, and if you choose the named route in translation and interpreting then you will have additional compulsory units in these areas.
You will spend your third year abroad in each of the two countries whose languages you are studying, and will study in partner universities alongside your Austrian, French,German, Italian and Spanish counterparts.

Graduate career opportunities include working as a market research professional, customer support advisor, events organiser; or as a teacher, translator, or cultural briefing consultant. Expanding areas for linguists include digital subtitling and dubbing and website localising. Recent graduates have also gained employment in banking, local government, cultural relations, education, manufacturing and importing.
