Why study German at MMU?

What you learn
Your programme of study is very flexible, and each year you will be invited to make option choices to suit your own interests. Key areas will include:
- German Language Study: acquiring good practical, communicative skills is at the heart of the programme
- Area Studies: your opportunity to learn more about the German-speaking countries – learn more about German film, or find out which TV shows are popular, read the latest popular fiction, discover more about the major events of the twentieth century
- Transferable Skills: you will acquire a broad range of valuable transferable skills, such as giving presentations and working with ICT, through studying here and living in Germany or Austria in your third year. This will give you a competitive edge in an increasingly global job market
How you learn
We aim to produce graduates who are both able and employable. We therefore help you to acquire and develop skills through:
