Stephanie Aldred leads the English Language Teaching (English for Speakers of Other Languages) section. She has taught Cambridge, IELTS and Pearson English tests and directs year-long and short courses in English for Speakers of Other Languages. She runs Continuous and Professional Development programmes for teachers, including CLIL and TKT. She currently teaches on the How Language Works unit (Level 4) and the MA TEFL (Teaching Engish to Young Learners). As a musician and erstwhile puppeteer, her research interests include inter-disciplinary approaches to English Language Teaching, including pedagogic applications of literature, song, dance and puppetry.
Stephanie recently gave a workshop at Kobe, Japan: Repositioning Literature in the English Language Teaching Classroom (World Storytelling Conference 2012) demonstrating the use of puppetry to provide natural opportunities for the rehearsal of target language in a phrase-based context.
