Responsibilities

I teach on a range of courses for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), including preparation for the IELTS exam,  and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) on the summer pre-sessional course and ELSIS.  I have also taught on the SUMAN course, providing CPD and teacher training, and will take part in the MA TEFL provision of workshops for Grammar Pedagogy.

Background

I have worked in English language teaching since 2005 and joined the Department of Languages at MMU in 2009.  I have delivered courses on a range of areas, including general and academic English, Linguistics, Business English, and IELTS, TOEFL, FCE and CAE exam preparation.  I have an interest in Film Studies and the use of digital media in teaching, and am a member of the Film in Language Teaching Association (www.filta.org.uk).

Trinity College Certificate in TESOL

MA Teaching English as a Foreign Language (due to be completed September 2012)
