Research (CeRLIM)

Staff of the Department of Information and Communications undertake research in information, its technology and communications within the Centre for Research in Libraries, Information and Media (CeRLIM)

CeRLIM aims to contribute to the design, development and effective use of information systems, resources and media through an understanding of the interaction of the human and social dimensions.  Our work focuses within three thematic areas:

  • Communications and Media: the social study of information and communications media and their policies, frameworks and impacts
  • Information Access: the study of information seeking,  search and discovery technology, digital libraries and their design and development.
  • Information Management: the study of information, its use and management in a range of organisational contexts
