What will I be studying?

This course is designed for graduate professionals in information-related posts in sectors such as health, local government, the arts and the private sector, as well as graduates of any information-related discipline wishing to progress to advanced level.

 The course has four main themes:

Digital repositories and text mining - This focuses on developing competencies in building information repositories and techniques for the analysis, presentation and delivery of information;

Information and knowledge management - Learn about management of information and knowledge in organisations and examine information as an organisational asset;

Information architecture - Study designing usable and effective information interfaces; 

Research methods and evaluation practice - Employ investigative methods to design and implement an evaluation study.

These themes are complemented by core units in Digital Rights and e-learning and the Organisation. The MSc Informatics employs electronic learning technologies and methods, as well as running an annual School.
