What are you doing now?

Since graduating from MMU in 2008 I have been working for HSBC Bank Plc. I have worked for the company in various roles such as Sales Floor Management and Personal Retail Banking in both London and Manchester.

What was your career route since graduation?

Whilst studying on my final year of the course I was offered a chance to work for HSBC. The company was aware that I was still studying and therefore came to an agreement where I would begin training to work for them in their Manchester flagship branch by March 2008. This gave me enough time to complete any outstanding assignments and my final year project. I went back to MMU in June 2008 to sit my final year exams. To pursue my career I am now hoping to gain specialised knowledge in the field of managerial finance and work towards becoming a Financial Planning Manager.

What did you like about and Communications?

I loved that it was such a diverse degree course it allowed me to concentrate on areas in which I was more interested in, such as Designing On-line Learning and ICT and the Law. In addition to this there were other units such as Learning and Professional Development which emphasised the importance of putting the material learned in an academic environment into practice within a working environment or work based situations such as interview techniques, job searching etc.

Any advice for new students?

My advice for new students would be to always aim high and to work extremely hard to ensure that you reach your goals.
