Background

Biography

Professor Jennifer Rowley is Professor of Information and Communications. She has previously been Professor in Information and Marketing at Bangor University, Professor and Head of School of Management and Social Sciences at Edge Hill University, and Head of Department at Manchester Metropolitan University. Previously she held lecturing posts at University of Central England, and Manchester Metropolitan University. She has Masters qualifications from City University and Aston University and a PhD from Aston University. She is a professional member of the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and Chartered Management Institute.

 

Research interests

Jennifer’s research and publication activities are extensive, with her reputation being founded on work in information management, knowledge management, marketing, e-business and related disciplines. She has authored or co-authored numerous books and journal articles, edited conference proceedings, and presented academic refereed and invited professional conference papers. She is currently Editor of the Journal of Further and Higher Education, and Associate Editor (E-marketing and marketing communications), Journal of Marketing Management.  

 

In recent years, Jennifer has supervised many PhD students to successful completion across a wide range of topics, including e-books, knowledge management, place branding, brand preference, branding alliances, innovation, entrepreneurial marketing, and entrepreneurial competencies, and is currently supervising in the areas of social media marketing, e-government, knowledge sharing, and open data. She also has extensive experience as a Doctoral examiner.
