What will I be studying?

This course offers a flexible, challenging Master’s experience studying a specialist pathway in Contemporary Literature and Film. Students study core units in:

Representing Contemporary Cultures (1) and (2) - In each of these core units students are introduced to issues and debates in contemporary culture and the ways that recent and current writers  and film-makers engage with them.

These core units combine with the choice of two electives from a wide range on offer and independent study consonant with their own interests in, and passions for, the further study of English. Taught in small groups, primarily through seminar discussions, students benefit from the expertise of research active staff, rapidly developing specialist subject knowledge and acquiring professional levels of research skills and conference presentation skills.
